DIY Cuff and Layered Bracelets
Thursday, August 16, 2012I have been waiting to share this handmade cuff for sometime now! I was inspired when I was creating these Smash Book pages for Craft Warehouse.
I am not a jewelry maker. But I do like jewelry. If I can figure out how to create handmade jewelry without tools, I will.
I was at Walmart and found this leather cuff on the clearance rack for only $5 and picked it up! I usually decide whether it is a good clearance deal when I try and figure out how much it would cost me if I had to make it myself. ;) This was a deal since it had three snaps for the closer. I knew I was going to like the weave of the leather for hanging chains.
I found Ruby Violet items by Lilla Rogers on sale and got a few to create the top of the cuff and used Helmar's 450 Quick Dry to glue the pieces right on to the leather. Hanging from the chain (not shown) are three bird charms, one for each of our family.
Now, I am always on the lookout for bracelets to layer with my new handmade cuff!
Create Well: Jewelry making doesn't have to be hard. Find pre-made items that you like and layer them together to get a style all your own!
