Heidi Swapp - So This is Christmas

Christmas Tree with @heidiswapp's wall words by @createoften

When I knew I needed to get this blog post up in time for some Christmas tree inspiration, I climbed into the attic to pull down our tree. I then remembered, it was 8 years old and looked like Charlie Brown's Christmas tree. The lights didn't work and the branches looked like they were a real tree 4 months after it should have been burned for kindling. The needles wouldn't stop dropping! Ha!

I took my time putting the new tree together and decorating it because I could only do a little at a time in the evening after I put my two year old, Bre, to sleep. I knew I wanted a touch of vintage so I used white, gold, and silver for my colors with a bit of red peeking through.

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Create Often with Jennifer Evans. I am an employee and do receive financial compensation and material product from American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

The inspiration was Heidi Swapp's Believe Banner! I limited the amount of dangles that the directions showed (see them hanging from the letter e?) because I didn't want any tangles while sitting on the tree.

My husband can not stand the floral picks that I place at the top of my tree. Like he literally says he loves the entire thing as soon as he pulls that top piece off and plays keep-away with me and it. No problem this year. I just said, ok, and stuck Heidi's Christmas Wall Word at the top. It would also look amazing hanging as a banner or yes, even on the wall! Ha!

I also added Heidi Swapp's Paper Lanterns that are brand new! They really are beautiful. these do not have lights hanging in them since the tree had plenty of it's own. The details are still just so beautiful hung as they are!

I tucked the gold Star ones into the tree, which gives the tree a whimsical feel!

On the opposite side of the room, I love my little vignette. The Snowflake Wall Words/Art are easily tucked into this small Christmas tree. I really didn't want to permanently attach them to anything because next year I might want to use them in a different way, maybe on a Christmas wreath like team member Jamie Pate did here

We might not have 38 days until Christmas like it says on this Heidi Swapp magnetic countdown today, but believe me, right now it says 30 days and the needle is on naughty. Just saying.

Here is my husband saying hello after our photo shoot! What a guy!

All Heidi's Wall Words and Believe Banner can be found at selective Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores, independent brick and mortar and online stores now! The Paper Lanterns can be found at AC Moore and are just starting to arrive in independent and online stores as well!

I hope you were inspired to try something new this year with your own Christmas tree! I am loving it even though my children think this week is Christmas and not Thanksgiving! Ha!

Create Well: Tuck Heidi Swapp's Wall words into branches of your tree, that way next year, you can decide to hang them somewhere else!
