Seriously, Hello Vacation

Summer beach layout by @createoften

4 more days until summer vacation. We are counting down the days! I haven't felt this excited in a long time! Mornings can be hard on this family, so we look forward to our quiet mornings of waking up on our own.

Yesterday, E came home with a paper about what he looks forward to do on vacation. I laughed when I read it!

The paper talked about his plans of going on vacation to the beach, staying at a hotel, swimming in the hotel's pool and playing in the sand. Obviously our family vacations make an impression on him and that his memories of these times are good.

He talked about wanting to go camping with his entire family and that surprised me. While camping with the family last year, he had an allergic reaction to the sand there and had hives and was on medication for the three days. He spent most days in his tent reading and sleeping because of the reaction. Bre wouldn't sleep in the tent and cried most of the night. Both Dave and I were exhausted and it was the hardest vacation I can remember. All the way up to the concussion I got on the last day. But, when we told E that we were not going camping this year, he broke down crying. He said he loved it....

Maybe it was just because we were all together as a family. No distractions. No work. No school.

Just us.
