A Plant Everyone Can Grow

A Plant Everyone Can Grow. How to hang Spanish Moss by @createoften

I love having a variety of air plants in my home. I found out that Spanish Moss isn't actually moss at all! It is an air plant! It is so easy to grow and is very low maintenance and looks pretty cool too!

A Plant Everyone Can Grow. How to hang Spanish Moss by @createoften

Spanish Moss comes tied together and instead of changing the tie, I just wanted to have an easy way for it to hang from a curtain rod at my office window. I decided to make a hanger for it! Here's how you can make your own.

Supplies:

Live Spanish Moss

Tim Holtz Chain (any style you love) - available at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores

Tim Holtz Large Lobster Claw (or another style you love) - available at Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores

Jump Rings

S Hook

How to:

 1. Measure out how long your chain needs to be by deciding how far your Spanish Moss will hang in front of the window. Trim with wire cutters and place lobster claw on a jump-ring at the end of the chain (see photo).

2. Place a jump-ring through the tie that came with the Spanish Moss (see photo)

3. Attach the lobster claw to that jump-ring.

4. Add another large jump-ring to the S hook and then hang from the window.

It is so easy to water the Spanish Moss. You just submerge it once a week for 1 minute in filtered water! These are so much fun and look really amazing with several together at different lengths too!

These are so much fun and a perfect way to start your plant collection! If your Spanish Moss looks a little dry, soak it overnight to revive it! It will make anyone's brown thumb turn green!

Wish you were a "plant lady" but don't know where to start. Try an air plant to get gain that green thumb confidence you need!
