DIY Notebooks

DIY Notebooks by @createoften using a little paper and glue

Anyone else love long walks down aisles of paper, notebooks, pens and organization supplies? I love back to school supplies. I love cute supplies that are just-my-style. This is the time of year I find plain notebooks and pencil pouches and make them unique! These plain kraft notebooks got a makeover and I can't wait to show you what I did!

This notebook and pen set is perfect to make-over! I used the new Crate Paper's Carousel collection by Maggie Holmes to dress them both up.

All I did was trace around the cover of the notebook with a craft knife on a 12x12 piece of paper. I left the flap alone so that the contrast would stand out when closed.

Then, I created a fun elastic band. I love elastic ribbon. It comes in so many color options and requires no sewing! I just measure the size I need and tie a knot! It doesn't get easier than that. To add the bow I hot glued it on top of the knot and added a tassel.

To decorate the pen, I did the same technique. I just trimmed paper to match and used glue to adhere it to the kraft pen.

I love this look.  It is amazing how you can get a new modern look with a little paper and glue!

Now is the time to buy multiples of notebooks while the price is right. While making one for you or your teenager, make several more for gifts later in the year. You will be happy you did when you are in a pinch for a quick birthday or thank you gift.
