If your kids are anything like mine, they are counting down the days before summer! That deserves a celebration alone, but this year we are also celebrating a graduation!

This year marks a new chapter in my son's life as he graduates from elementary school. He, like I am sure many of his peers, are a little apprehensive for the school year to end. Starting middle school is such a huge step for this pre-teen. He is trying to hold on to the memories that he has had with all of his teachers and friends with all his heart.To help him with this transition we have thrown him a summer party.
Everything is better with a party, right?
Lemonade is his favorite and so are these American Crafts Milk Glasses. Every time I pull them out I add a belly band with pattern paper and drop in a paper straw and he feels special.
I foiled a Heidi Swapp Wall Word with Heidi Swapp Foil Flakes. I loved using the Heidi Swapp Magic Medium as glue because it dries fast! I sponged it on the word in small sections adding foil flakes to, and then letting it dry all the way before buffing with a tissue.
Heidi's special Letterboard hack is to use small velcro pieces to the back of the word to attach the Wall Word to the board. It works perfectly. Just carefully remove the word carefully after the party so it doesn't damage the letterboard.
Ice cream sandwiches to keep cool and some good company, will make any party a success!
So here is to my sweet boy and the new chapter in his life! As his mom, I am having mixed feelings about his growing up, but a party will help me feel a little better about the changes. So will a bit of chocolate.
