Supplies – Adobe Photoshop CS2; Digital Paper, Digital Icons, Digital Frames, Digital Transparencies, and Digital Messages: Sweet Talk by Caleb Gray with Momenta

I am having a blast with these new photos we took a couple of weeks ago. Now, I want to have a few new photo shoots with vintage goodness... I already have a few ideas playing around in my head.

This layout doesn't look too hard, but I wanted to challenge myself to just use Momenta's new digital items. To duplicate this layout you can follow the instructions below:

To create the bordered background, open the paper number 4 with Adobe Photoshop CS2. Then, open paper number 3. Resize number 3 to leave a brown border (Ctrl T and then hold the shift key to resize). Open Transparency number 2. Using your cropping tool, crop around the length of the diamonds and then copy and paste it into your document. (The easier way is to have both your project open and what you want to add open as well by minimizing each window. Then, you can just drag your elements to your layout). Move the line of diamonds into your border. Continue to do the same thing until all areas of your border is covered with diamonds. Then, create the diamond stripes in the middle of the page by just dragging the same thing three times and moving the middle one above the rest by three diamonds.

To create the center of the layout, open the green 5x7 frame. Make sure your color is on white and then click on Edit
To continue with the words on the right, open “Fun Loving” and Rotate image. Then, click on Edit
To add the icons, open up the icon file and find the pink arrow (icon number 7). Open it with Photoshop and drag and drop it into your layout. Place it in the bottom right hand corner (making sure it is the top layer in the layers pallet). Adjust the size to 2726.5 px by 2480.5 px (you can do this before you drag and drop or just by Ctrl T and the shift key as before). While in Ctrl T also turn the arrow slightly toward the photograph. Open the pink button (icon number 3) in Photoshop and drag and drop it three times. The first one size to 1627.0 px by 1245.0 px. Place it at the top of the white frame in the middle. Make sure the second button is at the top of the layers pallet. Resize it to 1803.5 px by 1361.5 px and place it slightly over the first button on the right of it. For the last button, resize it to 1537.5 px by 1388.5 px also making sure it is at the top of the layers pallet.

To add text, click on your text tool in your tool bar at the right. Make sure your color is still selected on white. Using the New Courier font at 18pt begin typing underneath the original “Dreamer” title. My journaling reads: “today I dream. tomorrow I live. May 2010”

To save your layout, go to File
Note: When closing Photoshop and each file asks if you want to save the changes you made to each icon, message, etc. you want to make sure you click on No. You do not want to change any of the original files forever!

Then, upload your digital file to your favorite online photo printers or take in your file to a local printer, place in your album, and enjoy!

Create Well: Create a digital layout using only one kit. Comment and link to your layout and instructions on how you altered your elements. We would love to see!
