Let His Mercy Rain
Wednesday, June 9, 2010I am so excited that Craft Warehouse is carrying Webster Pages now! Do you know how long I have been waiting for Websters to be sold locally? Too long! {Sigh! I am so giddy with happiness!} ;)
I knew exactly how I wanted to create these flowers when I saw this technique in a sewing magazine for creating embellished t-shirts. I cut a heart out of Webster Pages' fabric ribbon. I sewed a gathered stitch and pulled the ends of the thread slightly. Then I cut a flower off of Webster Pages' Bloomers. Then, I used hot glue to adhere the heart to the flower. I left some of my thread loose for more of a "homemade" look. (You can see more close up shots at my Flickr photo stream.)
I love the designs of the papers in the Garden Gala line that we used for this assignment. But, I didn't want to cover the beautiful design with too many pictures. So, I used a wallet size photo from Costco. They are reasonably priced and I always have extras to send family, which totally makes their day.
Create Well: Create homemade flowers with fabric and stitching.
