This was a little discouraging. As a mom, it's not like I can put my little guy in danger and go walking the streets. My husband encouraged me when I shared with him my concern. He told me the point is to live your faith and be a witness everyday. Not go out and do something that God doesn't call you to do. God calls us to "go out and tell the world" not to keep the news to ourselves. The question is are you doing it at all?
It is easy to live out my faith at my work or in public, but harder when I am at home. When I am home, I am comfortable and safe. My husband has seen "all the sides" of Jen. I have been known to be selfish, loose my temper, get frustrated; I would love to conquer these things so that I am free to love my family unconditionally.
This week I have been determined to get out of my comfort zone at home and show love. I picked up the book, Love Dare. How fitting it was to start the dare the week before Valentine's Day. I am only on day four and it has already changed my attitude toward my husband and son. Not only that, my husband has responded in such an amazing way. He doesn't know I am doing this and also doesn't read my blog, so I know I am safe. ;)
This was my way of answering the challenge this week... Matthew 7:5 says, "You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother's eye." I felt like telling myself, "Hey, if you can't live your faith in your own home, how can you make a difference outside of it." I am hoping this is a step to change that.
