Heidi Swapp - 15 Years From Now
Wednesday, June 24, 2015My sister texted me this weekend a photo of a layout I had created for her over 15 years ago to go into her high school graduation album. Let me tell you, I didn't even remember it. If it wasn't for the handwriting I would deny it was even mine! You want to see it don't you? Well, here it is below...
This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Create Often with Jennifer Evans. I do receive financial compensation and material product from American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.
I have to say that I at least knew how to journal in the first year I started scrapbooking (along with cropping all my photos). It was when my son was about 3 or 4 that I looked back and realized I had somehow forgot to tell my story along the way.
A goal of mine in 2015 is to make sure that my family's story is told - even if it is hidden on the page. For this layout, I had fun adding Heidi Swapp and Pink Paislee embellishments on top of Bazzill Basics cardstock. I used one of the vellum envelopes in the new Heidi Swapp Card Kit and sealed it. I then slit it along the side and punched a half circle to place my journaling inside.
My sister lives so far away and after opening that album my family made her 15 years ago it made her remember the good times we had growing up. I could tell she treasures that album. It means that what we do matters. What I am doing today matters because in 15 years from now, I will be (cough!) years old and my children will be grown. We will all be sitting around our albums together grateful that I kept telling our story!
