Heidi Swapp - Hello There Halloween

DIY Marquee Skull Halloween Kit by @createoften for @heidiswapp

It isn't easy for me to get out there and build relationships outside of my circle of family and friends. Maybe you have the kind of personality that lets you get out there and meet people easily. For me, it takes work. If it was up to me, I would just stay at home and do my thing. Yet, I know that stepping out of my comfort zone and reaching my community is so much more rewarding. It fills me up to give and it strengthens me to live for others and not myself.

Our house has already been decorated for Fall... so, I asked my local coffee shop if they were decorating for Halloween this year. I have been learning more about the women that work there during the few minutes I see them through out the week. They hadn't any decorations up and answered that they really wanted to decorate but hadn't yet...

So, I asked if I could bring something I had made for them to add to their shop. They got so excited and said that they would love that.

I know this is a strange thing to do.... bringing a Heidi Swapp Skull Marquee to your local baristas. Yet, I keep on thinking what better way to spread love through the community than starting right where you are and where you go every day?

I glued this DIY Marquee Kit Skull right on to a gold painted wooden candlestick with E6000. The tulle tied into a bow made him look a little sophisticated, ha! Then I gold and orange foiled the Crate Paper After Dark Minc Gallery Wall Art and Tags so that they would match!

I drove up and gave the girls their new Marquee and they all squealed with delight. They said they were inspired to decorate for Halloween and the next day I was surprised to see their entire shop decorated with this little guy shining in the window.

It always feels good to do something for someone else. Now that all my Halloween Marquee shapes are shining around the neighborhood, I think I am ready to rock Christmas. ha!
