Heidi Swapp - Christmas Globes

How to make @heidiswapp Christmas Snow Globes by @createoften

There is nothing like getting a handmade gift. These easy but dramatic snow globes were perfect to make for teachers this year!

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Create Often with Jennifer Evans. I am an employee and do receive financial compensation and material product from American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.

The first step to getting these snow globes up on to their pedestal was to paint these wooden candle sticks gold. The real thing costs about ten times as much as the wooden ones! All I needed to do was paint them with this Metallic Acrylic Paint by Deco Art. This is my new favorite gold acrylic!

My son had fun helping me add our winter scene to Heidi Swapp's snow globes available at selective Jo-Ann stores (or online at Joann.com).

The lids already have this sponge like material. All we had to do was hot glue our things down!

I used E6000 Adhesive to glue the jars to the candle sticks and let it sit over night to dry! The teachers loved them and so did the students. They though it was beautiful and were trying to claim it as classroom decor instead of a gift. Ha! It always feels good to make someone's day (or a classroom's)!

Create Well: A little bit of paint and creativity can make an ordinary snow globe into a bit of Christmas cheer!
