Right now I am loving the contrast of black, white, and gold in my work space. It really is inspiring! I needed a few more ways to add color and photos in the room and thought a fun message board would be perfect. So I took this simple unfinished wooden arrow and made it into something special yet practical!

Adding foil to unfinished wood, really is easy and the look is so stunning! A little warning though, when you start, you won't be able to stop!
Supplies:
Unfinished Wood Shape
Black Acrylic Paint
Jane Davenport's Matte Medi-Yum
Heidi Swapp Foil Flakes
Washi Tape
Small Bulldog Clips
E6000 Adhesive
1. Use the washi tape to tape off half of the wooden shape. Paint half the shape black. Let dry.
2. Use a piece of paper to mask off your great painting job so that it doesn't get dirty with the next step.
3. Add Matte-Medi-Yum with a brush in small areas at a time. Then add foil flakes to that area. (If you have never used foil flakes before, see how to apply it in this video here at minute 5:15).
4. When the base is dry, place a drop of E6000 on the back of each clip and place it on the wooden shape. Lay flat to dry over night.
Now it is time to hang your piece on the wall! Adhere a picture hanger on the back and hang.
I just love the pop of color it gives my space and it will be a great place to hang photos, receipts, outgoing mail and more!
Have a favorite color? Replace the black with your color of choice! The gold will just accent the paint and make your favorite color POP!
