I listened to a great message this week about Nehemiah 6:3, "And I sent messengers to them, saying, 'I am doing a great work and I cannot come down. Why should the work stop while I leave it and come down to you?'” - ESV. The question was asked if we knew that "one thing" that God wanted us to do. Maybe you are even doing that "one thing" but are discouraged by all the people or distractions telling you, you can't do it.

This verse really spoke to me... Nehemiah was asked by his enemy to come and speak to him. Nehemiah would not be distracted by doing this "great work" to go and talk to Sanballat. Plus, knowing that harm would come to him and the city if he left, he just sent a message that "I can not come down"...
There are so many times where I am discouraged or distracted from doing the hard, but good, work God has given me to do. As a mother there are days I want to just curl back into my bed with a tub of ice cream because it is so hard. Ha! I know you know what I mean! Yet, we don't. We get up, mostly because the kids need to eat, right?!!! How many more times do I need to just "get up" and be strong in the Lord and keep doing that good work? Until it is done.
Until. It. Is. Done.
