Bible Journaling - Lead Me

Lead Me Bible Journal page by @createoften 3 ways I am making time to bible journal

With the new year already here, I have made some goals that I know will help me not only grow creatively but spiritually. I wanted to share these with you in hopes that it will not only keep me accountable, but maybe they will encourage you to join with me on this journey!

This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Create Often with Jennifer Evans. Less is More.

As a mom with small children, it can be difficult to carve out the same time of the day to be in the word. It doesn't matter what time my alarm is set for the morning, the kids always seem to be up before it. 3am, 4am, 5am, 6am - it doesn't matter - they will disturb. However, I have formed a habit in the last year of folding laundry every night after they are asleep. I am usually folding while watching a series on Netflix.

Instead, I have switched screen time to listening time. I put on a sermon from my local church, listen to worship music, the audio Bible, or listen to a podcast. If this time isn't good for you, figure out what time is. 15- 30 minutes of less screen time in a whole year has to have some reward, right?!!

Reflect.

After listening to whatever I have playing at the time I know I have a few minutes to jot down what spoke to me most. Sometimes I am even wearing an apron where I keep a little notebook and pen. This way I can quickly write something I heard or remember a Bible verse that was mentioned. This way I can reference to it later.

Create.

Now that my thoughts are recorded, I can go to it to do some Bible journaling when time allows. It just helps me document what spoke to me most in my Bible and gets me actually in the word looking at what I was listening to.

With this particular page, I finished folding laundry early, and while listening to the closing statements I was able to sit and paint quickly! This page took me only 10 minutes to make. I have my bible journaling supplies in one place (in the Illustrated Faith Pouch) so that when I am ready I just pull it out and get it done! Ha!
