There are times in my life where I am continually reminded of God's love for me. There is a specific verse that I would call my "love verse." God spoke it to my heart years ago and He continues to bring it up to me as almost like a hug. Not that kind of hug that you get where it is a pat or tap on your back like to say "great job". I am talking about that grab of the hand and pulling you in for a full on hug - just when you need it. The kind of hug that melts your heart. The kind hug that makes you know that you will always be loved. A verse like that needs to be celebrated with a journaling page.

I have just started using these two mediums in my bible journaling. It is like magic for the thin pages! I knew I wanted to add some paint and stamping to the page, but I don't like ANY leakage through the other side. So, using Jane Davenport's Gess-Oh as my first layer was key. This created a barrier on the page so that I could paint or add more layers without ruining the back of the page.
When gesso usually dries it is hard. The material it is painted on can get hard and stiff. Not with this gesso! This formula is wonderful and doesn't make the Bible page lose it's smooth shape. I just love it.
I started at Exodus 33:17-19 and added this Jane Davenport Collage Paper. I kind of imagine it like a pigmented napkin. The pattern has to be separated from the backing and I just do that by picking at the end of it with a stylus tool.
The paper is easier to understand by watching this quick video by Jane Davenport herself.
I used the Matte Medi-Yum as a liquid glue to glue the paper to the page and then again to seal the top. This creates a layer that I can then stamp over top of the collage paper.
To stamp a curved title I went ahead and used the new American Crafts Thickers Alignment Guide. It was a perfect way to get my letter stamps to line up perfectly. You can see the behind the scenes shot of me creating below.
Then I painted in the letters with the Jane Davenport Mermaid Markers. Then I added my journaling with the Inkredible Pen. With the layer of Gess-Oh it doesn't leak through either!
Lastly I added some Heidi Swapp Gold Foil Flakes and typed my verse on the Jane Davenport White Tape. I just taped it to copy paper and ran it through the We R Memory Keepers Typecast Typewriter.
I just love how this page turned out. It looks like I painted the entire thing when it was just the fun collage paper!
I hope that when you find a verse that makes you feel loved, that you will memorize it. Hold on to it and keep it close to your heart.
