Evans Genealogy - Reunion

The reunion that I went to this weekend has been a tradition since the 1950s. (See this post) There are photos of my father-in-law as an infant at one of the first reunions. The photo below is a few years later where my husband's aunt is an infant.

The beautiful story behind this family reunion is that when Florence's father passed away and her mother remarried, Florence lost contact with her father's family. Fast forward to 1969, and this book came out. The book was about the history of Anderson Island, Washington, where Florence's father's family grew up. Florence was sent a copy and when she opened it, she saw photos of her relatives that she was taken from and some that she had never met. Florence contacted and invited her Petterson side of the family to this reunion. It has ever since been the Petterson-Weisenbeck Picnic.

Isn't it a great photo? I love how everyone is sitting on a board held up by buckets.

I covered a Pink Paislee Chipboard Element to give it a vintage look.

Vintage buttons are always a must. ;)

I created the fabric flower a bit ago and it matched this paper perfectly that I had to use it.
Supplies - Paper & Chipboard Element: Pink Paislee; Ribbon: Prima Marketing Inc.; Alphas: Making Memories; Other: thread, vintage button, vintage dictionary, fabric & lace
