Heidi Swapp - Be Mine Valentine
Sunday, January 24, 2016I will make any excuse to buy cupcakes. That's why I love a classroom Valentine's Day party.
This is a personal blog. All editorial content and projects are intellectual property of Create Often with Jennifer Evans. I am an employee and do receive financial compensation and material product from American Crafts to develop my craft posts, but all ideas and opinions are my own.
This year I had my eight year old son help create his own Valentines for his classroom. It is a lot of fun when they can foil their own cards and run them through the Heidi Swapp Minc Foil Applicator Machine. It is like magic every time they do it!
These cards are already created with the design on them and are from Crate Paper's Hello, Love collection. All my son had to do is pick his foil color!
I also picked up the cupcakes from my local bakery, "Sweetly Baked", and made this cute cake holder from Heidi's Minc collection. It comes with the skewers and "love" chipboard piece. I just foiled it in red and added the fringe.
Have you seen We R Memory Keepers' DIY Party Small Honeycomb Pads? They come packaged so you can trace your design (I did a heart and small circle) and then cut them out. Instant honeycomb decor! It is so easy to use! You can see a quick video of how they work right here!
The Crate Paper Hello, Love collection matches the Minc cards I foiled so I added some embellishments to the treat table for fun!
Of course you can't have cupcakes without a little milk. The class will feel so special drinking out of these milk glasses tied up with seam binding and tags! I topped them off with an American Crafts party straw and Hello, Love glitter sticker.
To finish the entire look, I added the heart background and letters to spell "be mine" on top of my Heidi Swapp Lightbox! Then tucked Heidi Swapp Paper Lanterns behind it all to make the entire party feel even more festive! The paper lanterns flatten for easy travel and storage, which make them perfect to have for a classroom party!
I hope this inspires you to get the kids involved in some of the preparations! They will have a blast getting ready for the classroom fun!
